I am an Intermediate Level member of the
Society of freelance Editors and Proofreaders
I am a professionally qualified and experienced proofreader with contemporary ICT expertise allied to proven customer service skills.
My success has been based on meticulous attention to detail, an eye for presentation, natural communication skills and an appetite for hard-work.
I believe that accuracy, efficiency, speed and good relationship building qualities are essential when you are only as good as your last piece of work.
I started my career with BBC Television based at their main administrative HQ in Portland Place, London, initially as a Secretary, before gaining promotion to Assistant Manager, administering television appointments. This primarily involved writing and placing press advertisements for TV appointments.
I entered the advertising industry first for Chetwynd Streets in Manchester and then Aurum Advertising in Altrincham, liaising with key clients to identify and manage their advertising.
In 1983 I started my own secretarial business Typed and Ready Services, where I typed, copy edited and proofread essays, theses, CVs, letters and a book (which had been hand written by the author!).
In 1996 I worked for a preparatory school as school secretary, PA to the Headmaster and Registrar, where I instigated a weekly newsletter giving parents information.
In 2007 I moved to a firm of Rural Chartered Surveyors as an Administrator, leaving in May 2018 to concentrate on developing my new business "The Perfect Copy".
